Preparedness, Homesteading and Survival Sites

Updated on December 2, 2015

Be Prepared

Preparedness: the state of having been made ready or prepared for use or action "their preparation was more than adequate"

No one wants to be caught unprepared Most people will prepare for a small thing like a test or a presentation. Are people ready for a major event though? Economic Collapse, Pandemic, Biological Warfare. Many people may scoff, saying that these things will never happen. But what if they do. Are you prepared?

These sites have taken preparedness to the level of an art form, and they can give you an edge in the struggle for survival. The sheer amount of information stored on these forums and other sites is staggering. Whether you are looking for information about wild edibles, guerrilla gardening or nuclear shelters, you will be able to find it somewhere on these sites. If you're looking for something a bit tamer, like examples of off the grid living, information about homeschooling or how to grow a better tomato plant, you'll be able to find that on these sites as well.

Each forum has it's own personality and rules, but for the most part, if you have a question and are willing to ask it with respect, you'll get an answer pretty quickly.

Preparedness is its own reward.

Preparedness Forums

Here's a list of preparedness, homesteading and survival forums. Each of these forums has a unique personality and focus and it's a lot of fun finding the right fit for you.

Preparedness forums often focus on surviving a county, country or world wide disaster. There is information about growing food, alternative energy, hygiene, weapons and more.

These are the types of sties I'm listing, though there's always some crossover.

Survivalist sites often have a strong focus on the weaponry side.

Survival sites tend to focus on bushcraft -surviving in the wild

Homesteading sites focus on making a small farm prosper.

Preparedness sites tend to have a balance of the three.

Technology Sites

These links are to sites that have interesting technology for individuals and families looking to be more self sufficient.

Blogs

Here are blogs that relate to preparedness and homesteading.

Once again I must rebuild this list. This time I've used a different type of module because the other type and dial up do not seem to get along. No voting and you can't add blogs yourself anymore, but contact me and I'll add your blog

Producing Your Own Food

These sites focus on how to grow vegetables or raise livestock

Do you have a preparedness site that you like? Post it here. Are you a 'prepper' and want to share your experience? Do it here.
